The traditional way in which Yogastra mats are handwoven
THE STORY OF YOGASTRA
In Southern India are the Agasthya forests, once home to the legendary sage Rishi Agasthya, this UNESCO reserved biosphere is home to more than 2000 species of medicinal plants. Dyed in Ayurvedic herbs picked from these sacred forests and handwoven by artisans who proudly continue this 5000 year old tradition, Yogastra mats are born here.
These handwoven mats are made over 10 days, without the use of any chemicals at any stage.
Considering the special skill and ancient knowledge involved in the making of a Yogastra mat, the artisans are paid fare wage.
All the water used in making a Yogastra is rain harvested, the power is from solar heating and the used water poured back into the soil for replenishment. When you decide to go Yogastra, you support this ancient technology and you make a commitment to yourself and the world.
